Description

Professional SCR, DPF, and EGR delete tuning service for industrial and marine Volvo Penta engines is available through the Mochester App. Equipment requirements are very simple. The entire programming process is performed remotely using your communication adapter, the VLOMINGO Tuning Adapter, and a laptop. The process is fast, safe, and typically completed in 20 minutes or less. We also provide a limited lifetime warranty on our work.

To begin, simply install the Mochester App, connect the VLOMINGO Tuning Adapter to the ECM, and follow the step-by-step instructions.

Applicability

Supported Volvo Penta engines with factory-installed DPF, SCR, and EGR emission systems. Applicable to boats, yachts, generator sets, industrial machinery, irrigation pumps, crushers, and other equipment powered by Volvo Penta engines equipped with compatible TRW 2.3 and TRW 2.4 ECMs.

When is the service needed?

If the cost of repairing your Volvo Penta engine’s emission systems is getting too expensive, our remote tuning service may be the perfect solution.

Loss of power, poor fuel economy, unexpected shutdowns, and costly downtime are often caused by a clogged DPF filter, a malfunctioning SCR/DEF system, or a failing EGR system.

Our remote tuning service solves these problems by professionally deleting the DPF, SCR, and EGR systems through ECU software reprogramming. This eliminates some of the most common emissions-related failures and significantly lowers the ongoing maintenance costs associated with factory emission equipment.

And if you’d rather get ahead of the problem before it starts, this service is for you too. Proactively deleting these systems before they fail means you’ll never have to deal with those expensive repair bills in the first place. Once tuned, your Volvo Penta engine will operate without EGR-related faults, DPF restrictions, SCR system faults, or performance loss caused by soot buildup and exhaust flow restrictions.

Whether installed in a boat, yacht, generator set, industrial machine, irrigation pump, crusher, or other equipment powered by a Volvo Penta engine, the result is improved reliability, lower operating costs, and maximum uptime when your equipment is needed most.

Guides & Instructions

Tuning results

  • No SCR/DPF/EGR — related fault codes
  • No torque derates
  • No warning lamps on the dashboard

Required hardware changes after tuning

ATTENTION! After applying our DPF/SCR/EGR delete service:

  • The EGR valve should be unplugged and the flow should be blocked
  • ACM (Aftertreatment Control Module) and both NOx sensors must remain unplugged all the time! Plugging them back in will cause a “soot level high” message and immediate engine derate!
  • If the EATS cooling fan runs continuously, remove the fuse
  • The DPF should be removed physically
  • We also strongly recommend bypassing the SCR cans or removing them

Warranty Terms and Conditions

This product is covered by D3LW™ program. D3LW is DrunkLab Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Warranty cases are resolved in priority order. The policy is “fix or return,” which means a full refund if it is impossible to fix the problem immediately.

Warranty cases are:

  • Configuration errors
  • ECM memory — related fault codes appear after flashing
  • Aftertreatment system fault codes (not including instrument cluster reagent level code)

Non — warranty cases are:

  • ECU replacement (different ECU serial numbers detected than stored into database during reprogramming)
  • Software update campaign performed (different software detected)
  • ACM connection after programming
  • Cracking/readout attempts detected (different fingerprint is stored into ECU)

Company advantages

  • Fast tuning: With the Mochester App (M4 App), customers can order and apply tuning solutions without scheduling TeamViewer sessions.
  • Safe and Controlled Tuning Workflow: The OTP-based confirmation system, the guided and approved connection, and the verified tuning process protect against the risks of incorrect programming and/or configuration
  • Wide hardware compatibility: Works with the RP1210-compatible adapters including Nexiq, Noregon, DPA5, Inline 6, and Scanmatik
  • Advanced 2014+ vehicle support: The Mochester App, combined with the VLOMINGO Tuning Adapter works with Volvo, Mack, Renault, UD, Prevost, Volvo CE, and Volvo Penta platforms, and also provides access to TRW EMS 2.3 and TRW EMS 2.4 ECUs

Additional Information

It’s a remote ECU recalibration that disables the DPF, SCR (AdBlue/DEF), and EGR systems on Volvo Penta marine engines. In simple terms, the engine runs cleanly without regeneration cycles, DEF controls, or exhaust gas recirculation.

This tuning service is made for marine operators who want reliable performance without the constant headaches from emissions systems. In 2014+ Volvo Penta engines, the DPF, SCR, and EGR are all tightly integrated, and as the hours pile up, they often become the biggest source of trouble.

In real marine conditions — especially during long hours under constant load — DPF filters tend to clog, regens can kick in at bad times, and the SCR system starts throwing DEF faults or sensor errors. The EGR adds its own issues with carbon buildup that slowly restricts airflow. All of this together can lead to warning alarms, power loss, or unstable engine behavior when you least need it.

Instead of repeatedly fixing the same problems and replacing expensive parts, this service recalibrates the ECU so the engine no longer depends on any of those emissions systems. After the update, forced regens stop completely, and the engine ignores DEF and EGR-related faults.

The difference is easy to feel: the engine runs noticeably smoother and more predictable, especially on long runs or under heavy load. Operators usually report fewer alarms and much more confidence in their engine’s day-to-day behavior.

The main focus is safe, stable operation after removing the systems that cause the most downtime.

Key Benefits:

  • Removes DPF, SCR (AdBlue/DEF), and EGR control on Volvo Penta 2014 marine engines, depending on your setup
  • No more regeneration cycles getting in the way of normal operation
  • Gets rid of the usual DEF faults and NOx sensor-related problems
  • Helps reduce carbon buildup and the airflow issues caused by EGR
  • Keeps the engine from throwing alarms, losing power, or running unevenly
  • More stable and predictable performance during long runs and under heavy load
  • Cuts down on maintenance costs tied to emissions components
  • Done remotely, so there’s no need to remove or ship the ECU
