What We Write About
Today’s trucks have a lot more going on than engines, transmissions, and mechanical parts. They’re packed with electronic systems running complex software, and those systems play a major role in how the equipment operates. Sometimes figuring out a problem takes a deeper understanding of the software than of the mechanics.
We’ve worked with these technologies every day for more than 15 years. We follow how they evolve, what new solutions become available, and the problems commercial equipment owners run into along the way.
Our articles cover interesting cases our support engineers have handled. We explain what went wrong, what caused it, and how they found a solution.
We pay particular attention to optimizing emissions control systems—DPF, SCR/DEF, and EGR—as well as engine derates and the options for tuning and programming electronic control modules in commercial trucks.
