  • Physically block the EGR flow (install block-off plates or equivalent)
  • Physically remove the DPF (remove the filter entirely from the exhaust system)

Additional Information

It’s a remote Cummins ECU recalibration that shuts off the EGR system and disables the DPF regeneration logic. In plain English, the engine is reprogrammed to run without needing to do regens and without relying on EGR feedback. This means the engine no longer has to constantly adjust itself based on emissions inputs, which helps it run more consistently and with fewer interruptions.

The CM871 is a solid, powerful engine, but as the miles pile up, the EGR and DPF systems often become a real headache.
