From the Service Bay to Technical Writing

I spent many years working as a diesel technician, repairing and diagnosing heavy-duty trucks for transportation companies across North America. Long before I started writing, I was troubleshooting engines, replacing injectors, repairing electrical systems, and tracking down problems that often couldn’t be solved by replacing parts alone.

Working in repair shops taught me that modern diesel engines are driven as much by software as they are by mechanical components. That realization led me to study ECU calibration, electronic control systems, emissions technologies, and diagnostic tools used throughout the heavy-duty trucking industry.

My Approach to Technical Content

The articles I write are based on hands-on experience, conversations with technicians, calibration specialists, and fleet operators, as well as real diagnostic cases from commercial trucks.

I hope to help my audience learn how diesel systems work, why they break, and how those breakdowns influence reliability, costs, and time lost to system failure. I intend to accomplish this by avoiding complex language.

Today I work as an independent technical writer specializing in commercial diesel vehicles, ECU programming, emissions systems, and truck diagnostics.
